When In Rome

This movie surprised me!

Julie and I laughed so much while seeing this movie, we were pleasantly surprised!

This movie is super awkward and has a great cast, as long as you can ignore jon heder.

she goes to rome for her sisters wedding and steals coins from a fountain and meets a guy, the only thing is when you take coins our of the fountain of love, there is a spell that makes the person who wished on the coin fall in love with whoever picks it out.. yeah it sounds stupid... but it was hilarious!

Fantastic Mr. Fox

Although I like Wes Anderson movies, I didn't know how I'd feel about this movie, as I'm not a huge fan of George Clooney, and this is animated? I was skeptical.

I'm so glad I saw this movie, It was quite wonderful! I don't remember this book from when I was a kid... so I can't compare it.

I loved all the people in this movie, although I'm surprised that Angelica Houston wasn't Ms. Fox... or in the movie at all, as she's usually a staple in Wes' movies.

This movie is about a fox who loves to be a bandit, when he finds out he'll be a father his wife asks him to quit all the messing around... fast forward to a life with a wife and a young cub, his nephew comes to live with them and he can't help but get into his old tricks.. stealing chickens and cider.. the great heist! when the land owners start learning that Mr. Fox is stealing from them, they go after him at full force. Sparking a huge battle.. This movie goes an the adventure of this Fox family's life time.

This movie is quite hilarious and intriguing, I love that it's stop motion!

I love Daniel Day-Lewis, holy shit.

I didn't know much about this movie going into it, but I did know that it had an all star cast of babes and some singing. I saw this movie with my mother and I have to say, it was very excellent.

This movie is the story of Italian director Guido Contini who has made 6 world famous movies and 2 major flops is trying to make his 9th film, with a life full of sex and infidelity he struggles with trying to keep everything together and to make a comeback. Along the way the women that have molded Guido's life come to him in song form. When his wife finally has enough, you see Guido slowly start to realize what he's losing.

There is some singing, some laughs, some sad moments and a lot of scantily clad women in this movie.

The Blind Side

yes!

My mom and I saw this movie and boy was I impressed. I figured this movie was going to be sort of a flop and bomb at the box office, especially since it was up against New Moon. But this movie, like the story itself, prevails.

A true story about NFL player, Michael Oher, he comes from the wrong side of the tracks... his moms is on whatever drug she can pick up and he's 15 sleeping on couches. Around thanksgiving he's seen walking in the pouring rain in a tshirt and shorts. A family sees him roaming in the rain and brings him into their home. The help him get his grades up so he can start playing football. He obviously makes it, because it's a true story, and if you follow the NFL, you know that he plays for the Ravens.

This movie made me feel like doing something nice, so I wrote this blog.

Inglourious Basterds

Holy shit. I'm not even sure I know what to say, this movie was AWESOME, I saw it 3 times in the theater and each time was better than the last.

This might be my favorite Tarantino movie, if not #1, then a close 2nd.

This movie has everything you want, babes (brad pitt, eli roth, diane kruger), killing nazi's, blood, guts and glory. You've got Brad Pitt leading a team of Basterds in a nazi germany and killing nazi's by the boat load. Half the movie is in French, which was pretty cool.

I feel like if you missed out on this movie, then you missed out on being American.

I've always been fascinated by ghost stories but they're hard for me to watch, I usually have to keep my blanket or hoodie covering my eyes for a while to even make it through. I'm not sure why I thought seeing this movie would be a good idea, maybe because it was close to Halloween, or because Julie and I decided it was 4 o'clock in the afternoon and we'd totally be ok... Well no matter how I spin it to myself, this movie was terrifying.

A couple in San Diego starts experiencing weird bumps in the night, the heroic boyfriend decides it would be a great idea to film what happens while they sleep... Although at first the hauntings don't happen to the boyfriend directly, they start evolving more and more into a horrifying situation that he can't ignore, but don't worry he decides to antagonize it. SMART.

Julie and I were clutching onto each other most of the movie, screaming at any chance we got and literally terrified the last 45 minutes.

What a great back story, this movie was filmed for $15,000, on 1 video camera (from the actors POV), and has made millions. Did we mention that there are only 2 actors in the whole movie?

Believe the hype, this movie was scary!

New York, I Love You

I knew nothing about this movie before seeing the movie poster at the theatre, I chose to see it with two girl friends because of the BIG cast.

I would compare this movie to Love Actually in the way that there are multiple story lines (11 I believe) in which they all intertwine.. Some are humorous, one I found to be creepy, one I found to be confusing and some of the others were more dramatic, but don't worry, all of them were romantic!

I found this movie to be so interesting, the 11, 10 minute stories were all written, produced and directed by different people. It's said that the various filmmakers were asked to adhere to three guidelines: They had only 24 hours to shoot, a week to edit and needed to give the sense of a particular neighborhood.

Zombieland

I'm not so good with blood and gore, but when I saw the preview for this movie it reminded me of Shaun of the Dead, basically more humor than gore so that I'd be able to sit through it with minimal eye covering.
This movie is definitely at the top of my list for best comedy of 2009.

When you have a whole world being engulfed by zombies, and you're trying to survive, I'd like to think that I too would tag along with a grumpy Woody Harrelson and two misfit sisters. I could only hope that I would find love while double tapping.

I would never ruin the surprise guest of this movie, but I will say that it was the best movie surprise I've experienced in a long time.

I saw this movie three times in the theatre and each time it was even more funny.
